University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria
To align with our institution’s vision of producing high-quality graduates and scholars in focal areas of learning with theoretical, practical and entrepreneurial skills for the world of work in a safe, and conducive environment through quality research and teaching for sustainable development, the integration of the green chemistry course into our curriculum for second, third and fourth-year undergraduate students starting next academic year (2024/2025) will be introduced. The course will include hands-on learning about green chemistry concepts, principles, and toxicology. Students will also have the opportunity to conduct green chemistry research during their mandatory final-year research project. This initiative aims to spark local student competitions focused on green chemistry independent projects.
