Award Description: Up to 10 smaller awards of $1,000 or $2,500 will be available to support early-stage or focused initiatives that require more limited resources, such as integrating green chemistry into a single course, supporting student-led outreach, or attending relevant conferences. All proposals should include a clear plan for implementation and evaluation, with funding used to advance meaningful and measurable progress toward green chemistry education goals.

Eligibility Requirements: To apply your institution must be a Green Chemistry Commitment (GCC) Signer. Please ensure your Commitment forms are submitted to any member of the Higher Education team for your application to be considered.

Award Description: Three to four awards of $5,000 and $10,000 will be awarded to 10 Green Chemistry Commitment Signing Institutions to accomplish 1-year green chemistry projects that advance the teaching and learning of green chemistry. Funding must be used to drive departmental or institutional transformation. These may include curriculum redesign across multiple courses, faculty training initiatives, or broad implementation of the GCC Student Learning Objectives. All proposals should include a clear plan for implementation and evaluation, with funding used to advance meaningful and measurable progress toward green chemistry education goals.

Funding Level: 3 - 4 awards available, $5,000 - $10,000 USD each
Eligibility Requirements: Any higher education institution from around the world who have signed Beyond Benign’s Green Chemistry Commitment are eligible to apply for this grant. Grantees can submit applications, prior to signing the commitment, but only those that signed the commitment by their proposal submission will have their proposals considered. This funding call is open to faculty, students and staff with direct affiliations to Chemistry, Engineering, and/or Science departments. Cross-department collaborations are encouraged, but all applications must include at least one chemistry faculty member. Rolling applications.
