Universidad Ana G. Méndez, Gurabo

The program in chemistry provides students with a solid foundation in chemistry and the analysis and solution of chemical problems. Our graduates will receive training in the core areas of chemistry, with emphasis on scientific research. The design of the program and its courses are approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and comply with the licensing requirements of the Puerto Rico College of Chemists (Colegio de Químicos de Puerto Rico). Graduates of our program will be able to work in industry, research laboratories, government agencies, forensic laboratories, and other chemistry related scenarios.

Our institution is currently developing a stand-alone Green Chemistry course to provide students with a focused understanding of sustainable chemical practices. In addition, we are working on implementing laboratory experiences that are aligned with the principles of Green Chemistry. These efforts aim to integrate sustainability into both theoretical and practical components of our chemistry curriculum, fostering environmentally responsible scientific education.
