The Department of Chemistry & Physics at Salem State University offers multiple degree programs in chemistry including a concentration in Biochemistry and an American Chemical Society approved degree track.Green Chemistry is being introduced in the freshman chemistry lecture and labs, and skills are developed in organic, biochemistry and analytical labs. Our students are involved as Outreach Fellows with Beyond Benign, ACS ambassadors at the Boston Museum of Science, service learning opportunities in partnership with Salem public schools, outreach through WISE (Women in Science and Engineering and Green Chemistry education sessions at Salem CyberSpace.
