National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)

At National Taiwan Normal University, we are committed to integrating green chemistry principles into both research and teacher education. Our initiatives focus on training future chemistry educators to embed sustainability and environmental responsibility into their teaching practice, aiming to cultivate a new generation of students who view chemistry not with fear, but with curiosity and social awareness.
Through interdisciplinary modules and hands-on outreach programs, we encourage learners to connect chemistry with real-world challenges such as carbon reduction, renewable materials, and ethical drug analysis. We are currently developing programs that support resilience in science education, promote green chemistry in teacher training, and empower international collaborations across Southeast Asia.
By embedding green chemistry into formal curricula and informal science communication, we strive to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and inspiring vision for chemistry education.

In the short term, we aim to strengthen the integration of green chemistry concepts within existing teaching labs and lecture courses. Through student-led modules and interdisciplinary projects, we are encouraging hands-on learning and real-world application of green chemistry principles.
Our long-term goals include the development of a dedicated green chemistry elective course, the establishment of an international seminar series on sustainability and green innovations, and the expansion of undergraduate research opportunities related to green materials and analytical chemistry.
We are also working toward embedding green chemistry principles in K–12 outreach and teacher training programs, with the vision of preparing future educators to inspire environmentally responsible scientific practices in the next generation.
