Georgia Gwinnett College

Georgia Gwinnett College’s (GGC) Chemistry Department, the first signers of the Green Chemistry Commitment in Georgia, is the pioneering Green Chemistry force in our community. Our ACS-certified program, now fortified with Green Chemistry principles, represents a significant milestone in our dedication to sustainable education and research. We actively cultivate partnerships with local community organizations to enrich our students’ education with tangible, real-world experiences that extend the boundaries of our classrooms and labs. Our faculty is at the forefront of this transformative journey, embracing green chemistry principles and seamlessly integrating them into our coursework, laboratories, student engagement initiatives, and research endeavors. Within our diverse institution and program, we champion the cause of sustainability, ensuring that the tenets of green chemistry touch every facet of the chemical enterprise. GGC is an MSI and HSI; we firmly believe that diversity and inclusion is the bedrock for creating a greener, more equitable future. Through our commitment, we lead by example, forging a path of sustainability, inclusivity, and ACS certification in chemistry education.
