Juliana Vidal (she/her) is a Senior Program Manager at Beyond Benign, working to support the incorporation of green chemistry in higher education institutions through the Green Chemistry Commitment program. She earned her Ph.D. at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at McGill University, she worked on developing greener methods for adding value to marine biomass waste using mechanochemistry.
Juliana is an Associate Editor for the journal Sustainability & Circularity NOW, a columnist for the Greening Chemistry series of Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN), and the Co-Chair of the Global Conversation on Sustainability project. She serves on the Advisory Board of the IUPAC Interdivisional Committee on Green Chemistry for Sustainable Development, as a National Representative of the IUPAC Committee on Chemistry Education, and was selected as a Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Future Leader in 2020.
