How did you connect with Beyond Benign?
I used some of the labs developed by Beyond Benign for my dissertation research on green chemistry.
What first drew you into teaching and science education?
I first went to college to be a chemist, but found that I enjoyed teaching chemistry more than bench chemistry because of the social element.
What excited you most about teaching green chemistry?
Green Chemistry reinforces the important idea that science is not a subject, but a way of thinking about phenomena. The design aspect inherent in the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry facilitates engagement with chemistry concepts beyond the classroom.
