How did you connect with Beyond Benign?
At the 2018 New Jersey Science Convention, I attended a workshop on Green Chemistry run by Bettyann Howson. She encouraged the teachers in attendance to become involved with Beyond Benign and the Lead Teacher Program.
What first drew you into teaching and science education?
Almost by accident, a friend of mine mentioned that a summer school teacher was needed at his high school. I immediately liked it, and the administration liked what. I was doing enough to hire me to teach chemistry during the academic year.
What excites you most about teaching green chemistry?
Green Chemistry provides a new way to engage my students, and it empowers the next generation to be aware of and actively strive to create a sustainable future.
