I attended the SUNY New Paltz Train-the-trainer workshop on Green Chemistry Labs and was hooked ever since.
What first drew you into teaching and science education?
I was amazed by how science and scientific thought permeates everyday life and how an understanding of it can lead to inspiration and frameworks for discovering your own truth about the world. I wanted to be able to facilitate that journey for as many people as I could, so I joined science education.
What excites you most about teaching green chemistry?
Green chemistry excited me by being able to reach students within their own experiences and remove the alienation students often feel around science through safe procedures that build real science content without toxic danger while minimizing human and environmental impact.
