ChemEd 2023

Join us at ChemEd 2023, hosted by the University of Guelph! A biennial conference, ChemEd is an exciting opportunity for educators teaching high school and introductory chemistry to come together to learn and exchange ideas, resources, and inspiration. The five-day conference will take place on the University of Guelph campus, allowing for hands-on labs, workshops, demonstrations, and events focused on teaching chemistry.

Monday, July 24
2:30 – 3:25 pm (EST): This interactive presentation introduces middle and high school educators to sustainability principles in chemistry and how to apply them, Chemistry teaching and learning for sustainable futures, presented by Ken Hoffman.
3:30 – 5:15 pm (EST): An overview of the new GCTLC platform, including a run-through of functionality and more, GreenChemistry Teaching and Learning Community (GCTLC): A new online platform for K-20 educators, presented by Jonathon Moir.
Wednesday, July 26
2:30 – 4:15 pm (EST): A hands-on workshop where teachers will perform a precipitation experiment that applies green chemistry principles, Designing green chemistry labs for high-and-middle school, presented by Ken Hoffman.
