Plate To Planet Curriculum
Beyond Benign in partnership with Impossible Foods has developed an open-access curriculum for elementary school teachers.
How will we sustainably feed an estimated 9 billion people, by the time you reach adulthood (2030)?
The new Plate to Planet curriculum sparks student interest by investigating biodiversity, food as science and science as a tool for solving sustainability challenges. This curriculum, which includes detailed connections to NGSS life and physical sciences and cross cutting concepts, teaches students in grades 3-5 how food production and food decisions impact our environment. By diving deeper into real-world science innovations and hands-on labs, students experience first hand how science can solve sustainability challenges and ways they take action.
Disciplinary Core Ideas:
- Chemical Reactions
- Ecosystems Interactions, Energy, and Dynamics
- Structures and Properties of Matter
