Beyond Benign is offering fellowship opportunities for up to five (5) teachers to be accompanied by an expert teacher in implementing Green Chemistry lessons in their labs and classrooms. This opportunity is for those who have taken the Beyond Benign’s Intro to Green Chemistry Course, wish to progress through our Advanced Green Chemistry course (or have taken it in previous years), and desire mentorship through the process of implementation with a small group of peers.
Fellows participating in this four month program will have access to the following benefits:
- The accompaniment of NY Master Teacher Emeritus and Beyond Benign Certified Lead Teacher, Annette Sebuyira, as you implement your Green Chemistry labs and lessons
- Virtual classroom/Lab observations by Annette Sebuyira
- The regular support and reflection of four other Fellows in monthly meetings
- The ability to share your learning with your peers while participating in the Green Chemistry community
- Opportunities to present your work, with support, to peers at STANYS/Observe Wonder Think individually or as a cohort
- Opportunities to submit your lessons as Open Educational Resources through peer-reviewed publication.
- An additional credit (1) beyond your Online Course (3 credits)
- A $100 gift card for your classroom upon completion
WHO: New York Lab-Based High School Science Teachers
WHAT: A 4-month Fellowship program/mentorship opportunity with additional option for graduate level relicensure credit (1 credit, 16 hours)
WHEN: September – December, 2025 (following completion of Advanced Green Chemistry)
WHERE: Online – Synchronous monthly Fellow meetings, Virtual classroom visits
COST: Free to NY Lab-Based High School Science Teachers
