DESCRIPTION:If you’re looking to integrate green chemistry principles and practices into your teaching\, this is the course for you! \n \nABOUT THIS COURSE\nAre you looking for in-person professional development this summer? Are you ready to learn from other NY science educators teaching chemistry? \nLed by Siena College faculty and expert NYS Master Teachers and Beyond Benign Lead Teachers this professional development will feature NYSSLS aligned open access resources\, hands-on labs and guest speakers from academia and industry. \nLearn alongside peers and colleagues how to introduce Green Chemistry to your students along with the skills and knowledge to integrate sustainability chemistry in their classrooms. Practices and principles that encourage safer\, more cost-effective and practical application of lab skills in the classroom will be featured. Participants will learn how to “green up” lab experiments in your classroom to reduce concerns about the health and safety of the environment and humans. \nReal-world examples of how chemistry is being used to create more sustainable products will be highlighted along with opportunities to work collaboratively to develop resources for your own classroom. \n \nRegistration deadline EXTENDED to July 13\, 2022 @ 11:59 p.m. PT
