Job Title: Green Chemistry Commitment (GCC) Program Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Communication
- Develop and implement an engagement strategy to connect and support GCC signers in alignment with Beyond Benign’s strategic goals.
- Produce and maintain regular communications (e.g., newsletters, announcements, spotlights) in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Provide ongoing guidance to institutions seeking to advance green chemistry initiatives and sustainability goals in their curricula and programs.
- Facilitate regular meetings and initiatives of the GCC Advisory Board in partnership with the CPO and program team.
GCC Grants Program
- Lead the execution and oversight of the Green Chemistry Commitment Grants Program, which funds innovative green chemistry initiatives in higher education.
- Manage all aspects of the grant cycle, including proposal solicitation, application review (in partnership with community reviewers), award distribution, and impact reporting.
- Track funded project outcomes and collaborate with the marketing team to share success stories and outcomes.
Annual GCC Survey and Audit
- Plan and manage the annual GCC survey and audit to assess institutional progress in integrating green chemistry student learning objectives.
- Analyze data to identify trends, needs, and opportunities for community-wide support.
- Prepare and present reports to stakeholders and publish annual insights in collaboration with the marketing team.
Green Chemistry Commitment Annual Summit:
- Design goals and outcomes for the Annual Summit in collaboration with the CPO, program teams, and Advisory Board.
- Lead all aspects of event planning, including speaker recruitment, session coordination, marketing, and logistics.
- Lead other events (virtual and/or in-person) related to the GGC program throughout the year
- Develop a program that fosters cross-sector collaboration, peer learning, and inspiration for future green chemistry education efforts.
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent Beyond Benign and the GCC at conferences, webinars, and partner events.
- Contribute to broader Beyond Benign initiatives and cross-program collaboration.
- Travel for conferences and events (domestic and occasional international travel may be required; all expenses covered by Beyond Benign).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Education, Sustainability, or related field; Ph.D. preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in program or project management, preferably in an educational or nonprofit context.
- Proven experience with grant management, event planning, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong communication skills, including writing, editing, and storytelling.
- Familiarity with green chemistry, sustainability, or science education is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Experience promoting and organizing events, including webinars and conferences.

Terms: This is a full-time, 2-year contract position with the possibility of extension depending on funding and performance. The incumbent will be supervised by the Chief Program Officer (CPO).

Compensation: Salary is negotiable and will be based on experience and qualifications. Benefits package, PTO, and professional development opportunities are available.
