SUMMARY:Ask Me Anything: Implementing Green Chemistry Principle #7: Use of Renewable Feedstocks
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for an upcoming Ask Me Anything (AMA) interview focused on Green Chemistry Principle #7: Use of Renewable Feedstocks. From August 3rd to 6th\, Dr. Julian Silverman\, Dr. Audrey Moores\, Cassie Lydon\, and Cassie Javner will answer questions from the community and share their expertise in the Green Chemistry Teaching and Learning Community (GCTLC) forums!\n\nRenewable feedstocks create opportunities to connect chemistry with sustainability\, materials science\, and agriculture. Throughout the conversation\, the panel will share approaches for helping K-12 and higher education students examine where chemical feedstocks come from\, consider the opportunities and tradeoffs associated with renewable alternatives\, and connect this green chemistry principle to real-world applications.\n\n💬 Get your questions ready and meet us in the forums!\n\nPS: If you missed previous AMA interviews or want to revisit the insights shared\, you can explore them here.

SUMMARY:In the Eye of the Aerosphere: Connecting Aerosol Chemistry to One Health and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 19th for the next session in the Promoting Chemistry Applied to World Needs webinar series\, hosted by Beyond Benign and the IUPAC Committee on Chemical Research Applied to World Needs (CHEMRAWN).\n\nProf. Chia C. Wang\, Professor of Chemistry and Founding Director of the Aerosol Science Research Center at National Sun Yat-sen University\, will explore how aerosols shape air quality\, climate\, public health\, and ecosystems across molecular\, cellular\, environmental\, and societal scales. Prof. Wang will introduce the Aerosphere\, a systems framework that sees aerosols as an interface connecting Earth’s atmosphere\, hydrosphere\, lithosphere\, biosphere\, and anthroposphere.\n\nThe webinar will highlight AeroMUSIC\, an interdisciplinary learning program that combines science\, art\, and community engagement to strengthen public understanding of aerosol science. Using airborne transmission of virus-laden aerosols as an example\, Prof. Wang will show how comics and animation can translate complex research into accessible public health communication\, foster environmental awareness\, and advance the principles of One Health.\n\nThis session invites participants to consider how chemistry connects Earth systems\, human health\, and public understanding while contributing to a more sustainable future. \n\nRegister for the series and meet us online on April 19th. You’ll receive the Zoom link and access to the full series upon registration.
