SUMMARY:Toxicology for Chemists Virtual Friday Workshop at the ACS 25th Annual Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference
DESCRIPTION:Toxicology for Chemists: Preparing Chemists to Design More Sustainable Products Through Smarter Molecular Design \nWe are hosting a workshop session during a Virtual Friday (June 4th 2021\, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm ET) at the ACS 25th Annual Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference! \nOur workshop will introduce our open-access Toxicology for Chemists curriculum\, currently in development by Beyond Benign in conjunction with our team of toxicology experts. Tune in to learn more about how the curriculum has been designed to train chemists to understand hazards\, environmental health\, and human health impacts when designing chemical products! \nDuring the workshop\, we will also moderate a conversation about how the curriculum can be best used at your higher education institution. You will hear from faculty experts about how they have integrated the curriculum within their courses! \nLastly\, if you are interested in pilot testing the curriculum\, don’t miss the opportunity to sign up with us during the workshop! \nRegister for the conference on the ACS 25th Annual GC&E Website to attend our workshop. We hope to see you there!

SUMMARY:24th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference (GC&E)
DESCRIPTION:The 24th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering (GC&E) Conference\, originally scheduled to take place in Seattle\, WA on June 16-18\, 2020\, is now a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This free-of-charge event is open to all. \nSimilar to an in-person event\, participants will hear and engage with colleagues about innovative science. Using a virtual platform\, they will be able to watch recorded oral presentations and engage with presenters through features like a live chat and/or audio/video Q&A. Our keynote speakers will be presenting live talks during the conference with Q&A. There will even be a full poster session. \nMany of our participants have expressed the importance of networking at GC&E\, and we are looking for creative ways to replicate this experience online. Participants will be able to communicate with each other through the platform—plus we are excited to explore virtual coffee breaks\, tweet-ups and other ways to engage. \nACS GCI will be working with our Program Chairs\, Symposium Organizers\, and Oral and Poster Presenters to transition the majority of the 45 technical sessions to the online platform. The full schedule will be announced soon! \nBROWSE TECHNICAL SESSIONS

SUMMARY:Green Chemistry Student Chapters: Stories of Success at ACS NOLA 2018
DESCRIPTION:Join Beyond Benign and the ACS Green Chemistry Institute to celebrate model green chemistry student chapters at the ACS National Meeting in New Orleans\, LA. \nThe Green Chemistry Award has quickly become one of the most sought after accolades for student chapters. To be eligible for green chemistry status\, chapters must engage in at least three green chemistry activities per year\, ranging from community outreach activities to hosting invited speakers. This symposium will provide a platform for student chapters who have been awarded green chemistry status to share their unique strategies and stories. Through peer to peer student conversations\, more student chapters may be inspired and empowered to achieve green chemistry status.
