SUMMARY:New York Professional Learning Team Meet-up
DESCRIPTION:Join us for monthly meet-ups from 5pm – 6pm ET to collaborate with peers in the creation of NYSSLS Aligned Green Chemistry Labs\, videos of implementing labs\, and lesson plans spotlighting NY Industries practicing green chemistry! We will feature guest speakers who are leaders in sustainable science bimonthly. Most importantly\, together we will share lessons and labs as we work together to add sustainability into our sciences. \nFrom ocean plastic to forest fires\, our world needs invention\, innovation and creativity to find solutions to our biggest problems. Green chemistry\, also known as the science of solutions\, offers a framework for decreasing hazards within classrooms while promoting sustainability for both human health and the environment. \nWhether you are new to thinking about sustainability in the classroom\, or have already implemented green chemistry lesson plans\, we want you to join us. Together\, we will create a community of Green Chemistry educators within the state of NY. This PLT is for teachers in grades 6-12. \nRegistration link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScGsyx4D0pDnoieDjfzQGwIJAIToFfSEthSRNp3rgbmVOuEwA/viewform \nNY Site: https://sites.google.com/beyondbenign.org/green-chemistry-in-new-york/ \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \nSeries Dates: Sept 13\, 2021; Nov 1\, 2021; Dec 6\, 2021; Jan 10\, 2022; Feb 7\, 2022; Mar 7\, 2022; April 4\, 2022; May 2\, 2022; June 6\, 2022;
