How did you connect with Beyond Benign?
Teacher workshop at SUNY New Paltz in March 2015
What first drew you into teaching and science education?
I worked in research for 9 years and had experience training teachers or giving them real lab experiences in DNA extraction and electrophoresis and other lab protocols. I started a teacher program the next semester.
What excites you most about teaching green chemistry?
I found that it invigorated not only my chemistry teaching but also the biology. I think that students can connect easily to the idea of not doing harm to the environment and this gives them a concrete way to think about it. It makes the subject relevant which can make it something they want to know.
