Beyond Benign

Overview

Community Engagement

Community education has a critical role to play in building a sustainable future. Through hands-on activities showcasing green technological innovation community members gain firsthand knowledge of why creating safe, energy efficient, and less-toxic products and processes is beneficial to the economy, human health and the environment.

enrichment materials

Many of our community engagement activities and labs are based on lessons from our K-12 curriculum library. For educators looking to do hands-on green chemistry activities with talking points, guiding questions and hints for implementation click here. These materials are ideal for informal educators, after-school science clubs, ACS student chapters or home school audiences.
